Christmas Gift |

When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about." (Luke 2:15) |

The gift of Christmas arrived last night born in a manger bare Only a manger for his crib with some animals sleeping there. Then oh how the heavens rang announcing this Baby's birth. The angels summoned those around; God's Son had come to earth! With anxious reverence they came and approached the manger slowly They knelt in wonder and in awe to see the Babe most holy. Many did not know that night this gift would some day die But today he's just a baby. Now, can you hear his cry? This precious Prince of Peace was born to someday save mankind. He'd cure the sick and help the poor; He'd heal the deaf and blind. Emmanuel, our God with us, - can bring peace to our land. Today he's just a baby. Come take his little hand. This babe is like no other through the power of God's grace. Such radiance all around him! Come, look upon His face. The morning sun is breaking through; We welcome the new day. He's lying in the manger. Please come see Him today. What was your wish for Christmas? I wished for peace and love. Then I made another wish – that you'd look up above And thank our Heavenly Father for sending us His son. And pray that every day through - His will, not ours, be done. Janet Mengle |
