Some who read this may remember the name Clair Colbert. Clair was at our church for our Lay Witness weekend, and was on many Lay Witness weekends with me and touched many lives. I would like to share a note Clair gave to me.
“It was four o'clock when I got awake. It seemed like I was in Israel standing beside a lake. I thought about a man, a man from Galilee , that man was the only begotten Son of God who died for you and me. Yes, he died for you and me to save us from our sins, your sins and mine, but not for our sins but for the sins of all humankind.
Jesus bore them in his body according to his Word. That is why we call him our Savior and our Lord. It all transpired on Calvary 's cross; he died to save us from eternal loss. The forces of good and evil met in conflict there, and Jesus was declared the winner. I cannot comprehend the depth of love Jesus portrayed there on that Good Friday so many years ago, but I am sure he was sincere. This is why we love him so. Jesus' blood is God's only antidote for sin, it keeps us pure within.
And so we have eternal life because Jesus made the supreme sacrifice. He is our Savior and our Lord now, you see, because he died for you and me.”
Have you ever had a friend who is as kind as this Jesus friend? This friend is for you and me!” |
Jesus was and is God's plan for each of us to share eternal life with Him and our loved ones. So as we celebrate His birth, let us always remember the price He paid for our salvation.
For Him,
